The Covenant Mission

Is to reach the unbeliever with the love of Christ and the Good News of the Gospel and to empower believers to live a fully committed life in Christ. We must influence the youth in our church and community and support and strengthen the family unit.


Covenant Purpose Statement

To bring people to Christ and membership into the body of believers (God’s family), and develop them to Christ-like maturity and equip them for ministry in the church and community in order to fulfill their destiny and magnify Jesus Christ.


Purpose Elements

To love the Lord with all your heart—through worship

To go and make disciples—through Evangelism

We are to baptize them—into Fellowship

We are to teach them to obey God’s Word—through Discipleship

Pastor Hairston founded Pentecostal Covenant Church in June of 1995 with his wife and family. The church began with two families. Since then, God has truly blessed their work.  Prior to starting PCC, Pastor Hairston served as the assistant Pastor for Grace Apostolic Temple in Seattle.


Pastor Hairston has been married to Minister Jo Ann for 42 years, and they reside in the Seattle area. They are blessed to have four children and eight grandchildren


They are both trained facilitators and have always believed in team ministry. They continue today with the same philosophy and theme "Empowered by God - to Empower Others." Both have a love for God and God’s people. They have been used by God to minister to many people on family & youth issues and marriage & relationship concerns.


Pastor Hairston served as the Chief Electrical Inspector and the Director of Inspection Services for the City of Seattle’s Department of Construction and Land Use until retiring after serving 27 years.


God has blessed her with a wonderful husband in District Elder Wilford T. Hairston, the pastor of Pentecostal Covenant Church in Seattle. They have been pastoring for the last 17 years. Previous to that, Elder Hairston was the Assistant Pastor at Grace Temple in Seattle for over 16 years. They are blessed to have four children

She loves her family, working with people, and good food! She has learned through her experiences that God can help her handle anything! One of her favorite sayings is: "It’s not what happens to me. Its how I handle it that determines my physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being." 


Minister Jo Ann is a conference speaker on women and youth issues. She and her husband facilitate relationship and marriage seminars. She is a trained facilitator for the SHARE (Sexuality, Health, and Relationship Education) Program. She is a licensed Minister with the Pacific Northwest District Council (PNDC) of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW). She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselor and a graduate of Seattle University.


Minster Jo Ann has served as a Sunday School teacher, deaconess, choir member, 1st Vice-President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Pacific Northwest District Council (PNDC), Vice Pres of the PNDC Minister’s Wives &  Minister’s Widows Auxiliary, Altar Worker, Intercessor & Prayer Warrior, and ministers in the gifts of inner healing & exhortation in the Body of Christ.


Minister Jo Ann recently retired from the State of Washington Employment Security Department after over 20 years of service.For Minister Jo Ann, it’s all about:  "Jesus, Souls, and Attitude!"She desires your prayers.

Minister Jo Ann Hairston has been walking with the Lord for over 39 years, and she has loved every minute of it! In the good times and in the difficult times her testimony is: "I’m sold out to the Lord."
